The students who have graduated from our scholarship program were the first in their families to ever go to school. There are now about 100 graduates with another hundred and thirty right behind them.
They have a great sense of duty and responsibility and they are very proud to be able to help support their families. Although some of our students have jobs outside of the Samburu area, the Samburu way of life is very compelling and they keep in touch with their families and each other. They return home whenever they can. Many are helping their younger siblings through high school.
